About Camp Project Wales
Camp Project Wales (CPW) is a small, Halton-based charity that provides a free camping adventure holiday for children aged 10 to 12. The charity is 100% run by volunteers, and we raise around £20,000 each year through a variety of events to be able to provide this experience. Our biggest and most well known fundraiser is Runcorn Santa; bringing Father Christmas to the streets of Runcorn every December.
Camp Project Wales provides the children with a range of new experiences and encourages them to work in a team; building their self-confidence and self-esteem.
Activities include things like canoeing, crabbing, swimming and circus skills, and we also organise day trips to Newborough Warren and Beaumaris (including a rib boat ride, a look around the castle and a tour of the RNLI station).
Every child that comes to camp has a wealth of new experiences and tonnes of fun with a group of new friends! We aim to help the children reach their potential in a ‘family’ based social setting and the health and safety of the children in our care is paramount.
We have been an active part of the Halton community for over 35 years– and we hope that we will continue to be so for many more years to come. We continually receive positive and heart-warming feedback from the schools and the staff who recommended the children to come and join us at camp. Indeed, we believe it is possible to see the change in many of the children during the week itself. Every child that leaves at the end of the week has achieved something which will hopefully stay in their memories for many years to come!
